What is Full Body Laser Hair Removal?
Laser Hair Removal is an advanced method of removing your unwanted hair anywhere on your body.
With the IPL / Intense pulse light we are able to provide non-invasive, safe and effective hair removal treatments guaranteed with a proven success rate of an 100% removal. Leaving your skin feeling soft, silky, smooth and hair free all year round!
Laser light is attracted to the melanin in your hair follicle. Once the laser beam is released, the light turns into heat which is absorbed by the hair follicle right down to the hair bulb. This heat damages the hair bulb and after consecutive treatments the hair follicle is destroyed discontinuing the production of hair.
How many treatments will I need?
The recommended number of treatments for effective laser hair removal is 3-6 with your first 3 treatments performed monthly. This will minimise your need to shave to ensure the best possible results at the end of your treatment course. Contributing factors such as hormones and ethnicity will affect your individual results you can read more on the cost of laser hair removal here.
How do I prepare for my treatments?
Please ensure you give a close shave to the areas to be treated on the morning of your laser hair removal treatment. The areas to be treated should be free from any make-up or perfumes. We recommend ceasing the use of self-tanning products, solariums, spray tans and sun exposure for at least 2 weeks prior to laser hair removal treatment.
Please ensure you refrain from waxing, tweezing or bleaching for at least 2 weeks prior to your treatment date. Be sure to advise your therapist of any medication you may be taking at the time of treatment.
What should I expect after each treatment?
After having your laser hair removal treatments, you may feel a sunburn sensation and there may be erythema (redness) and/or oedema (swelling) of the hair follicles, this is a normal reaction and may last anywhere from 1-72 hours, or longer. Two weeks after having laser hair removal you will notice the hairs will begin shedding out on their own, to help this process please exfoliate twice a week however do not exfoliate within the first 24 hours of having treatment. We highly recommend the use of SPF 30+ daily to reduce the chance of any hyper-pigmentation. We suggest you read up on any further risks of laser hair removal here.
